Restoring

Install the app on the new device
Only from the official listings.

Import your recovery phrase
Type it in. The same key is derived and stored in the new device's secure hardware.

Confirm the address matches
It must be identical to your old one. If it differs, a word is wrong.

Check your inheritance screen
Your configuration, deposits and timer are read from the chain and reappear automatically. Nothing needs to be recreated.

Check in immediately
This resets the inactivity timer, which has been running the whole time you were without a device.

Re-enable notifications
Permissions do not travel between devices. Grant them again, or you lose the warnings.
What carries over
- Your wallet and funds
Yes — they were never on the device, only the key was.
- Inheritance configuration
Yes. Heir, timers, heartbeat and claim status are on-chain.
- Deposited assets
- Yes. Held by the program, not the phone.
- Vault items
Yes. Stored as ciphertext and decryptable again once the wallet is restored.
- Notification permissions
- No. Grant them again.
- Local labels and preferences
- No. Cosmetic only.
If the old device is in someone else's hands
The key is behind biometrics, so a thief cannot sign. Still, the correct assumption after a theft is the pessimistic one:
- If you believe the phrase was also exposed — written down nearby, stored in a synced note — move everything to a new wallet immediately and reconfigure inheritance there.
- If only the device is gone, remote-wipe it through your platform account and keep using the same wallet.
The timer kept running
This is the part people forget. Time without a device is time without check-ins, and the switch does not know why you were quiet.
Restore promptly, check in as soon as you are back, and if you were away long enough that the timer lapsed — or a claim was started — see I missed my check-in.
Plan for a long gap before it happens
If you know you will be without a device for a stretch, lengthen your inactivity timer beforehand. It takes one transaction and removes the whole problem. See choosing your timer.
If you cannot restore
If the phrase is gone and the device is gone, so is the wallet. Nobody can help and nothing can be reissued.
The inheritance configuration remains on-chain and will continue to run — which means your heir would eventually be able to claim the deposited assets and open the vault. That is not a substitute for your own access, but it does mean the estate is not necessarily lost with it.
