This is the step most likely to be quietly incomplete, and the consequences of leaving it that way are total: an unconfirmed heir can never claim.
Check first: is the address exactly right?
The overwhelmingly common cause. The wallet signing the acceptance must be the exact address in the owner's configuration.

From the receive screen of the wallet they are trying to accept with.

Compare them character by character
Not the first four and last four. All of it, or scan a QR code.
If they differ, the owner updates the heir to the correct address — see changing or removing your heir — and the heir accepts again.
Other causes
No SOL for the fee. Acceptance is a transaction. An empty wallet cannot send one. Send the heir a small amount and retry.
They imported the wrong wallet. Easy to do with several wallets on a device. Check which one is active before signing.
They are using an exchange address. Exchange deposit addresses cannot sign anything, so they can never accept. The heir needs a self-custody wallet whose key they control.
The configuration changed after they looked. Any change to the heir resets confirmation. If the owner updated something mid-process, the heir should reload and try again.
No inheritance configuration exists yet. The owner must complete setup before anyone can accept. See setting up the Switch.
Confirming it worked
The owner's inheritance screen shows the heir as confirmed. Both sides read that from the chain, so it cannot be a display bug on one device.
Verify it, do not assume it
This is the single step that people believe happened when it did not. Until you can see “confirmed” on the owner's screen, the arrangement does not work — and the moment it matters is precisely the moment nobody can fix it.
If the heir will not or cannot do it
Some people decline the responsibility, and some lose the wallet they nominated. Either way the answer is the same: name someone else, or name a different address belonging to the same person, and get that acceptance completed.
An arrangement pointing at a wallet nobody controls is worse than none, because it looks finished.
